Lonnie Ray Ham Sr., 62, of Orange, passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009 at his residence. A time of memorial gathering will be held throughout the day on Saturday, at the residence of Mr. Ham’s son, Darrel, at 3981 Lane of the Oaks near Texas 62 just south of Farm Road 105 in Orange. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. 

Born in Mansfield, La. on Nov. 3, 1946 to Ora Edward Ham and Agnes Rowena (Austin) Ham. He was a longtime resident of the Orange area and worked as a ranch hand for Dr. Jimmy Jones as well as for his father, J. B. Jones. Lonnie was a simple man who was always honest, believed in keeping things fair and he held the ability to fix just about anything. 

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alva Gene Ham, Tracy Ham and Oles Ham; and his daughter, Theresa Marie Ham.
Those who will remember him most fondly are his sons, Lonnie Ray Ham Jr. and his wife Julie of Orange and Darrel DeWayne Ham and his wife Eva Kay of Bridge City; sisters, Rita May Zackery and her husband Jimmy of Dallas, Billie Jo Chellet and her husband O. J. of Bridge City, Clara Bean and her husband Richard of Hartburg and Marie Maxwell of Corpus Christi; brother, O.E. Ham and his wife, Darla of Baton Rouge, La; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
