Swim team tryouts
The LC-M Swim Team will have tryouts Aug. 28 from 6-7 p.m. at the Sulphur Recreation and Aquatic Center. All swimmers must tryout. Bring a completed 2009-10 athletic packet (including the physical) to the tryout. The packets are available from Diane Brown, athletic secretary. All athletes will need to swim a 100 free and a 100 of another stroke for the tryout and they will be timed. Participants should bring their completed physical/athletic packet or will not be allowed to tryout. There will be a $4 fee for each swimmer/family member entering the pool deck. Cheer clinic scheduled Saturday
Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School Cheerleaders will hold a cheer clinic for students who are 5 years old through grade six from 9:30 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Aug. 29. Registration begins at 9 a.m. in the high school lobby. The fee of $25 includes a tee-shirt and snack.

LCM Class of 2000 high school reunion committee is planning a meeting for Saturday at 3 p.m. Log on to www.myspace.com/treschicaimee to message Aimee Martin for the location and directions.
Fall ball registration Saturday
Orange Youth Baseball Softball is having fall ball registration 9 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Aug. 29. Cost to participate is $50 for Baseball and $65 for Softball. There will not be a late sign up date.
Board of Directors elections will be held during the same hours. Those who can and want to serve on the Board of Directors for the league, contact Misty Winder at 886-4517 so that she can get your name on the ballot in a timely manner. Support these children with your time and efforts to volunteer.
If you cannot serve on the Board, please consider coaching a team. Good coaches are always needed.
Band Boosters’ fundraiser
Bridge City Band Boosters will have a car wash, link and bake sale from 9 a.m.-2 p.m Saturday in the TSO parking lot in Bridge City. Proceeds will go to band students’ needs.
LC-M Band Boosters meet
The Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School Band Boosters will meet at 6 p.m., Monday, in the Band Hall. All band parents are encouraged to attend. The meeting will end at 6:45 p.m. so everyone can attend the LCM Community Pep Rally.

Get Wild with the Bears
The Little Cypress-Mauriceville fall pep rally is scheduled for 7 p.m., Aug. 31, at the football field. They will be recognizing LCM’s fall sports. Be ready to show your spirit for the green and gold. The concession stand will be open.
