Troopers seek driver in Kaufman County hit-and-run

Texas Highway Patrol investigators are seeking information about the driver in a hit-and-run crash on July 10 that killed a 20-year-old Kaufman man.

The Kaufman County Sheriff’s office is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the driver of the vehicle.

Brandon Pate Simmons was walking on Farm Road 429 about 5 a.m.

on July 10 when he was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle that left the scene.

Simmons was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans when he was hit.

“We know that someone out there has information about how this happened, and we need to talk with them,” said Highway Patrol Sgt.

Anyone with information about the wreck, the location of the vehicle or who might have been driving it is urged to call DPS investigators at the DPS office in Terrell at 972-661-6010.
