George R. Sigler, 78, of Beaumont died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont. His memorial service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the church prior to service time.

Born July 28, 1931 in Elizabeth, La. to Desmond F. and Verna Campbell Sigler, George was a graduate of Lutcher Stark High School and Louisiana State University. He served his country in the Strategic Air Command. A former resident of Orange and resident of Beaumont since 2000, he was a retired Professional Engineer from Dupont Sabine River Works. He was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

George is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Joyce M. Sigler. 

He is survived by his wife, Martha Sigler of Beaumont; sons, Ron Sigler of Baton Rouge, Dr. Scott C. Sigler and his wife Dr. Kala Sigler of Edmund, Okla. and Thomas H. Sigler of Palmer, Alaska; Martha’s children, Richard Bernard, Donna Parker, Scott Bernard, and David Bernard; twelve grandchildren; sister, Patricia Skinner of Silsbee; brother, Carlys of San Salvador, Brazil; and his beloved pet, Coco.
