Wenona Leggett, of Orange, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at The Meadows. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. T.J. Boderlon of Cove Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Bridge City. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.

Wenona was born on July 1, 1920, in Gary, Texas. She was the daughter of Wash and Finada (Witcher) Davis. She owned Leggett’s Beauty Shop in Orange and retired as a beautician. Wenona was an active member at Cove Baptist Church, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wash and Finada Davis; husband, Ray D. Leggett; brother, George Davis; sister, Charlcie Heaton. 

Survivors include her son, Charles R. Leggett of Orange; son and daughter-in-law, Joe D. and Wanda Leggett of Cut-N-Shoot; grandchildren, Daniel and William Leggett, Marion Marasciullo and wife Michelle, Shawn Marasciullo Murphy, and Miranda Drummond; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
