Monroe Preston Sieber, 84, of Orange, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009 in Port Arthur. A service to honor and remember his life was held Sunday, Oct. 18, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Conducting the service was Mr. Jerral Kay, minister of the 40th Street Church of Christ in Orange. Interment followed in Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in the McLewis community of Orange.

Born on Sept. 8, 1925 in Troup, Texas to parents, Charlie Preston Sieber and Mary Frances (Stone) Sieber, he had resided in the Orange area since 1952. He worked as a maintenance worker for the West Orange-Cove School District and he proudly served his country as a veteran of the U. S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Sieber is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lottie Bea Sieber; son, Preston Wayne Sieber; and his granddaughter, Mary Catherine Sieber. 

Those who will most cherish his memory are his daughters, Loretta Berry and husband, Norman of Orange and Patricia Gail Sieber of Orange; sisters, Verda Riggs and husband, Charles of Camden, Ark., Verlene Bass of Tyler and Theda Burch and husband, Murphy, of Orange. Nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers for the service will be David Bass, Mark Block, Chris Berry, Stephen Berry, Michael Berry and Murphy Burch.
