Dwight Louis “Shad” Shaddock, 72, of Orange, died Nov. 14, 2009 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m., at Newton City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Dwight was born on March 27, 1937 in Holly Springs, Ark. He is the son of Henry and Eula Mae (Harper) Shaddock. Dwight graduated from Newton High School in 1955. After graduation he entered the U.S. Navy, where he served from 1955 to 1959. Dwight later retired from DuPont after 35 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dolphus Shaddock; and sister, Emorene (Shaddock) Miller.

He is survived by his son, Richard W. Shaddock of San Antonio; grandchild, Devyn Le Shaddock of San Antonio; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathryn and Herman Autrey of Orange and Judy and Keve Blacksher of Newton; five nieces and seven nephews.
