The Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School swim team took part in the Lufkin Invitational on Saturday along with 142 swimmers from 10 schools including Fort Bend Travis, Marshall, Athens, West Orange-Stark, and Nacogdoches.

Cassey Brown, a junior, grabbed 3rd place in the girls 500 yard freestyle, swimming a personal best time of 6:16.88. She also placed 3rd in the girls 100 yard backstroke, clocking another personal best of 1:13.26.

Sophomore Chasity Chapman finished 7th in the girls 100 yard butterfly with a personal best time of 1:39.74. She also placed 16th in the girls 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:31.29.

Alex Dorman, junior, made a strong showing in the boys 200 yard freestyle with a 4th place finish swimming a personal best time of 2:03.11. Dorman also placed 6th in the boys 100 yard breaststroke, swimming a personal best time of 1:15.39. This time breaks the old school record set in 2006.

The Bear team will be represented by Dorman at the Class 4A Southern Zone TISCA meet in Burnet, Nov. 20-21.
