Devil’s Pocket
Wanda Carol Williams, 57, of the Devil’s Pocket community of Newton County, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, in her residence. Services to remember her life will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 28 in Dorman Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Marion Lee Everhart, pastor of the Old Laurel Baptist Church in Newton County. Interment will follow services in the Sudduth Bluff Cemetery in Newton County. A gathering of family and friends for a time of reflection will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. 

Born on Feb. 16, 1952, in Orange to Carl Douglas Morrison and Julia Frances (Johnston) Morrison, she was a lifelong resident of the Orange and Devil’s Pocket area. She was a member and a Sunday school superintendent at the Old Laurel Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing genealogy research. Wanda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for her mother and brothers.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Carolyn Williams. 

Those who will most cherish her memory are her loving husband of 38 years, Charles Williams of Devil’s Pocket; daughter, Belinda Williams of Lumberton; son, Charles Lee Williams of Buna; brothers, John Morrison of Vidor, Stan Morrison of Orange, Doug Morrison and wife, Flo, of San Antonio and Donald Morrison of Orange. Wanda is also survived by her granddaughter, Susannah Williams of Lumberton.
