John Steven McLain, 42, of Orange, passed away Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009 at his home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 30, at the Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange. A gathering of family and friends will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., Monday at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.

Born on Jan. 21, 1967 in Houston to Wayne LeeRoy McLain Sr. and Lema Joyce (Pruett) McLain, he lived in Orange since 1997 and had previously lived in Corpus Christi. John owned and operated McLain’s Tree Service in Orange and he was very much a family man. John often sacrificed for himself to help others and he had a heart of gold. John had a good sense of humor. He enjoyed a good joke. He was a religious man who enjoyed reading his bible.

John is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mike McLain and Wayne LeeRoy McLain Jr.; and his nephew, Jerry Henson.

Those who will most cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy McLain of Orange; children, daughter, Chelsea McLain of Beaumont; and his sons, Jon Jon McLain and Christi, LeRoy McLain, both of Corpus Christi and Brandon McLain of Beaumont; his stepchildren, stepdaughters, Christina Theus and Melissa Broussard both of Orange and stepson, Michael Theus of Baytown; his sisters, Marcie Clifton and husband Donnie of Orange, Nancy Scott of Vidor and Carol Miller of Beaumont; brother, Ronald McLain of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Jacey Theus and Madlyn McLain. John is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
