Mrs. Ella Evans, 92, of Orangefield passed away on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9,  at  Dorman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park . A visitation will be held  from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. 

She was a native of Blossom, Texas; born on July 1, 1917 to parents, Jeff Jeanes and Donia Lee (Handley) Jeanes. She had lived in the Orange Area for 57 plus years and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening (vegetable and flowers), quilting, cooking and every Thursday you would find her at T.O.P.S of Orange. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed dearly by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Van Dale Evans; children, John Evans, Linda Callahan, Betty Jeanes and Van Jeffery Evans; grandchildren, Richard Wright, Grady A. Berry, Jonathan Naverro; siblings, Sanford Jeanes, Reeder Jeanes, Hiram Jeanes, Boyce Jeanes, Mary Evans.

Ella is survived by her children, Billie Evans and Shirley of Fayetteville, N.C., Patsy Flannigan of Orange, Richard Evans of Fayetteville, Christine Wheatley and Dennis of Orangefield, Donna of Orange, Roy N. Evans of Denton, Donald W. “Bubba” Evans of Port Arthur; sisters, Barbara McNabb of Paris, Texas, Bobby W. Jeanes of Bethany, Okla. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
