My 98 year old sister passed away in September. I remember that her favorite cake was Hershey’s chocolate cake. It is about the best holiday cake that I know of.
And then you have Donna Bradley’s Strawberry cake.

• 1 box of white cake mix
• 3 tablespoons flour
• 1 small box strawberry gelatin
• 1/2 box frozen strawberries
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 4 eggs
• 1/2 cup water

Icing Ingredients:
• 1/4 stick oleo
• 1/2 box frozen strawberries
• 2 cups powdered sugar

Grease and flour bunt pan. Beat eggs well then mix oil, water and strawberries together with beaten eggs. Combine all dry ingredients then alternate mixing dry ingredients into wet. Bake at 325 degrees for 40-50 minutes. Apply icing while cake is still warm.
This is an easy cake to make and very good.
Now, back to the Hawaiian Wedding Cake. It is correct. I talked to the lady that gave me the recipe and she said she thought it was weird not to have any shortening or butter in it at first, however that is right. The pineapple juice and eggs are what make it so moist. It is really good also. Try it. You will like it. It’s Gooder’n Syrup.
Happy Holidays, Von.
