Nelda J. Haley, 73, of Orange, passed away Friday, Dec. 25, 2009 at Baptist Hospital in Orange. Services to remember her life will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 28, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. A gathering of family and friends for a time of reflection will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. A committal service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at the Darbun Latter Day Saints Church Building in Darbun, Miss. with interment to follow in the Darbun Mormon Cemetery.

Born on June 24, 1936 in Jones County, Miss. to parents, Archie William Lindsey and Lillian Fair (Walters) Lindsey, she had resided in the Orange area since 1955, was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, most recently in the Orange ward and she had worked and retired in 1987 as a director of administration for the Orange County Navigation and Port District. Nelda was a loving wife, mother and nana and she and her husband, Alvin had just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on the 18th of December.

Nelda is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Aubrey Lindsey; and her sister, Vey Delaughter.

Those who will most cherish her memory are her husband, Alvin J. Haley of Orange; daughter, Sherry Minner and husband, Roger of Mauriceville; and son, Keith Haley and wife, Liz of Kaysville, Utah; sisters, Neva Hembury of Akron, Ohio, Erma McGee and Verda Bracey both of Columbia, Miss. and Kay Smith and husband, Charles of Tylertown, Miss. Her grandchildren, Tiffany Moreau, Cory Moreau, Lindsey Bryan and husband, Blake, Bryce Haley, Anna Haley and Blake Haley.

Pallbearers for the service will be Cory Moreau, Blake Bryan, Brent Williams, Josh Bedwell, Roger Minner and Bryce Haley. Honorary pallbearers will be Woody Dorman Jr. and Joe Francis.
