Gloria “Co-Co” Ladd, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at Baptist Hospital in Orange. Burial will take place later in the week in Memphis, Tenn.

“Co-Co” was born on a glorious day, Dec. 25, 1925, to Vernon and Ruth Ladd. She was born in Memphis. where she spent most of her childhood and adult life. She had two brothers and two sisters. She was a graduate of Humes High School in Memphis.

She worked for Smith Wood Works and Buckman Laboratories, retiring from Buckman in 1988. “Co-co” took care of sick family members for years and was the last of the Ladd line. In 1998, she moved to Orange to be with family. She loved crossword puzzles, reading and her dog, Pepper. “Co-Co” was a member of North Orange Baptist Church.

She leaves a niece, Dale Potter and her husband, Richard. She was a great- and great-great-aunt to many in Orange.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, staff at Pinehurst Nursing Home and the emergency staff at the Orange Hospital for their care and concern to Miss Ladd and her family.
