Joe E. Hodge, 75, of Vidor died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Houston. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 15 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, also in Vidor.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home.

A lifelong resident of Vidor, he was a retired owner operator of Farmers Insurance Agency in Vidor, where he enjoyed talking and helping his clients. He was a class of 1951 Vidor High School graduate. He loved to travel, and enjoyed being a park host at several state parks. Joe was an avid deer hunter and outdoorsman. He served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Corine Hodge.
Joe is survived by his wife, Virginia Hodge of Vidor; sons, Joe D. Hodge and wife, Linda of Vidor and Gary Hodge and wife, Sue of Clearlake Shores, Texas; daughter, Laura Fielding and husband, Keith of League City; brother, Charles Hodge; and sister, Shirley Wood, both of Vidor, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
