OrangeChristine Lowrey, 90, of Orange, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Baptist Orange Hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 28, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. Andrew Pate of First Christian Church of Orange. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Born in Arcadia, La. on Jan. 7, 1920, she was a resident of Orange since 1947. She was a long time member of the First Christian Church of Orange.

Chris operated a beauty shop for many years on 27th Street in Orange.  She was known for her great cooking and beautiful crocheted handiwork.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen C. Lowrey.
Chris is survived by her daughter, Donna Gail Lowrey Garrett and son-in-law, Jimmy Garrett, of Valencia, Calif.; son, Bill Lowrey and daughter-in-law, Becky Lowrey, of The Woodlands; and her sister, Nadine Williams of Orange. She is also survived by her four grandchildren Katie West and Bradley Garrett, both of Bakersfield, Calif., Kelly Atwood of Plano and Christopher Lowrey of The Woodlands.  She has three great-grandchildren, Emily and Kylie West of Bakersfield and Drazik Atwood of Plano.
