Orangefield High School students, Alison Yu and Ashlyn Lopez, were honored by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office for their support of the Blue Santa program. Their time and devotion helped make it a merrier Christmas for children in Orange County.

The Blue Santa program provides new and gently used toys for the children of Orange County. Without Blue Santa, many of the children would go without toys at Christmas. The Sheriff’s Office would not be able to continue this rewarding effort without the support of people in the community.

Deputy Sheriff John Badeaux said, “It was so heart-warming to see the community come together as one when it came to our children.  I was overwhelmed with the helping hand in our community reaching out and helping Blue Santa.”

This year the program was able to provide toys for over 364 children in Orange County, with each child receiving four to five new toys.  In addition, over sixty-seven bicycles were distributed to needy families.
