Angel Food Ministries
McDonald Memorial Baptist Church invites the public to place food orders from Angel Food Ministries on Feb. 10, noon-6 p.m. in the church office, corner of South and Broad streets Orange Lions City Park.
Distribution date is Feb. 27. Cost per box is $30, and other choices of food are an additional cost. Cash or LoneStar card accepted. For more information, call the church office at 883-3974.
Solid Rock fundraiser
Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 1207 Link Ave., will sell barbecue to benefit the church building fund from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Dinners are $8 and include chicken and ribs, dirty rice, potato salad, green beans or pork and beans, a roll and slice of cake. Orders can be called in at 886-5387, 221-2873 or 313 5766. Delivery is available for persons without transportation.
Salem UMC 145th Church Anniversary Celebration
Salem United Methodist Church is preparing for the celebration of their 145th Anniversary. There will be several pre-anniversary programs.
A musical presentation featuring choirs and groups from the Golden Triangle area kicks of at 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 25.
Also planned is a pre-anniversary revival. At 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26, come listen to the Rev. Ceena Gans. The Rev. Jamal Robinson will be the speaker on the second night of the revival at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27.
The anniversary celebration begins at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 28 with guest speaker, Pastor Michael Cooper from The Church of I Am in Beaumont.

Cowboy Church to host chili lunch
The Cowboy Church of Orange County plans to host a lunch next Sunday, February 7. The lunch will consist of chili, rice, crackers, and a lot of other fixin’s and will follow the morning service. Ron Nolen, Director of the Texas Fellowship of Cowboy Churches, will speak in the service. Mr. Nolen has helped start many of the Cowboy Churches in the state of Texas and now also in several other states, as well. Weather permitting, horse rides and wagon rides will be available after the service. The public is invited and encourage to attend the service and the lunch. The service will begin at 10:30. Coffee, juice, and donuts will be available at 10:00.
The Cowboy Church is now meeting in its new facilities at 673 FM 1078 in Orange, just off of Hwy 62 and about one mile north of I-10. The church moved into its new building on October 25. They are now working to complete a children’s building and rodeo arena and will then complete a concession stand and restroom facility for the arena. They also plan to install a large set of bleachers for the arena.
Services at the Cowboy Church are laid back and casual. Their own country and western band, the Cowboy Cross Band, leads the music each week. Dress for the services is also casual with boots, jeans, and hats welcome, but not required.
