Alvin W. Rheel, 70, of Deweyville passed away on Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 at his residence. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Feb. 19, at 3 p.m., at Dorman Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friend to start at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was a native of Plain Dealing, La.; born on Sept. 4, 1939 to parents, William Archie Rheel and Mary Elizabeth (Johnston) Rheel. Alvin had lived 50 plus years in the Deweyville area and was one of the founding members of the Deweyville Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of and retired from Pipefitters Local #195.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Arline Holland, Marvine McCullough, Marteal Holliman, Ada Nell Snipes; and brother, T.P. Rheel.

He is survived by his sister, Mattie Frances White of Deweyville; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, great-great-nieces and -nephews and friends.
