Bridge City Middle School sixth graders participated in the first ever “Derby Car Races” as a final lesson in energy for science class.

The objective was to create a derby car that would be the fastest, using their knowledge of how weight and gravity affect potential and kinetic energy.

Each student created their own car and competed against their classmates.

The overall winners of the race were: 1st Place, Kasey Self; 2nd Place, Jordan Curl; 3rd Place, Felix Hebert. Each winner received a trophy and a gift card to Wal-Mart.
