The West Orange-Stark AP Government class traveled to Austin Feb. 17-20 for an educational experience. The seniors heard oral arguments in three cases given before the justices of the Texas Supreme Court at the University of Texas School of Law. 

They toured and took pictures in the actual courtroom of the Texas Supreme Court and also toured the Texas capital along with the House and Senate chambers. 

The students visited three Austin area universities-St. Edwards’s University, Huston-Tillotson University, and the University of Texas. 

The group consisted of seniors Sam Webb, Justin Sparrow, Quentyn Mitchell, Andrew Smith, Laramie Phillips, Shonnalee Jacobs, Shabana Navrozali, Cassie Thompson, Gabrielle Saucier, Christyn Harris, Brittney Brantley, Danielle Griffith, Mikell Smith, Tinesha Mix, Cayla Adams and Katherine Sargeant.

Leesa McMullen is the AP government teacher and was joined by Assistant Principal Araina Daniels and Meri Elen Jacobs.
