Charlotte Ann Verdine, 42, of Mauriceville, went on to her eternal home on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from Christus Hospital – St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. Funeral services to remember her life will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 18 in the First Baptist Church in Deweyville under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Interment will follow services in the Doyle Annex Cemetery in Starks, La. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., Saturday at the church.

Born on Feb. 2, 1968 in Portsmouth, Va. to parents, Ray Gerald Bean and Violet Lorraine (Padgett) Bean, she was a longtime resident of Southeast Texas and had lived in Mauriceville for the last 12 years. Charlotte worked as a nurse for Texas Home Health and she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Deweyville. Charlotte was a fun loving person who was always smiling, making people laugh and she was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed taking care of people.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her father; her maternal grandparents, Emory and Margie Padgett; and her paternal grandparents.

Those mourning her passing yet cherishing her memory are her husband, Jimmy Ray Verdine of Mauriceville; mother, Sissy Padgett of Orange; daughters, Kayla Carpenter-Verdine of Orange and Terri Carpenter-Verdine of Mauriceville; sons, Layne Verdine of Mauriceville and Garrett Verdine who is in the Marines serving in Afghanistan; sisters, Tommie Phillips and husband, Gary of Orange and Betty Paul of Henderson. Charlotte is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
