Donald “Donnie” Moore, 61, of Orange passed away on April 20, 2010 in Vidor. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 24, at 10 a.m. at Peveto’s Ranch on Wilkerson Cemetery Road. Burial will follow at Peveto Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Dorman Funeral Home.

Donny served in the army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was retired from the Vidor Independent School District where he worked for 20 plus years. He enjoyed spending his retirement with family and friends, fishing and horses. He has passed his love of horses on to each of his grandsons; leaving them with priceless memories. He loved to fish with his wife on the weekends (we may never know the truth of who caught the biggest fish). He is loved by many and will be truly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Moore.

Donny is survived by his wife, Michele of Orange; mother, Gladys (Gray) Moore of Orange; daughters, Mellisa Harris, Heather Carter, both of Lumberton, ReDeana Shaver of Mauriceville; stepdaughter, Julie Barton of Mauriceville; stepsons, Chad Harrison, John  Harrison, Justin Harrison, Randy Harrison all of Mauriceville; sisters, Janie Lisenby, Judy Moore both of Whitehouse, Sherry Ferguson of Orange; brothers, John “Bojo” Moore of Frisco, Wayne Moore of Mauriceville; grandchildren, Tray Harris, Nick Carter, Cameron Carter, Keegan Shaver; step-grandchildren, Logan Ellis and Rylan Harrison.

Serving as pallbearers, Oscar Gonzales, Brent Peveto, Nick Franck, Randy Harrison, Chad Harrison, Marcus Moore, Ray Moore, and Frank Carter. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Peveto, Russell Manning, and John Nava
