Orange County will be well represented in the 3A Regional Track and Field finals that begin at 1 p.m. today.

West Orange-Stark girls 4×100 meter relay was 4th in the prelims, while the boys 4×100 relay team from WOS had the best prelim time, 41.42 and are expected to run away with the win.

BC’s Kirby Shepherd represents Orange County in the 800.

WOS boys 4×200 relay team is the favorite with the fastest time in the prelims.
Colin Janice of WOS will represent the boys  in the 400 meter dash, while Bree Fontenot of Bridge City will represent the girls.

Competing at 3:25 p.m. in the Girls 1600 meter run will be Bridge City’s Meagan Shockley and Mary Nguyen, plus Lady Cat Kayla Williams. For the boys in the 1600 meter run Kirby Shepherd will compete against fellow Card Tim Cude.

Hope Carr of Bridge City will compete in the long jump, along with West Orange-Stark’s Johnesh Sims. For the boys, Justin Francis and Trey Franks, both from WOS will compete in the long jump.

Philip Jones will compete in the 110 meter hurdles finals for WOS.

Trey Franks had the fastest time in the prelims of the 100 meter dash, but was closely pursued by Mark Jackson of Taylor and Corey Davis of Gladewater.

In the boys 200 meter dash Justin Thomas and Ed Ivory from WOS will compete. Ivory had the second fastest time in the prelims.

Orangefield girls will compete in the 4×400 relay at 3:55 p.m. West Orange-Stark will represent Orange County in the boys 4×400.
