BC’s Miller signs Tennis letter of intent
Meredith Miller, a four-year letterman on the Bridge City varsity Tennis team signed with the College of Coastal Georgia Monday. Miller is two-time district champion in girls singles, three time regional qualifier and state qualifier.
“Meredith has been a pleasure to coach. She has always wanted to be a better player and never backed away from a challenge,” said her tennis coach Bill Dixon.
“She began coming to our tennis practices when she was in elementary school. My players back then thought she was so cute until she would blast the ball back across the net and make them look silly. She won their respect quite quickly!”
Dixon said Miller backed off of tennis a bit while in middle school but got very serious again when she entered 9th grade.
“Meredith has really taken a leadership role this year in mentoring the younger players and pushing them to be better. She has been an excellent role model and teammate throughout her career.
“I am really excited for the opportunity that this scholarship has given Meredith to continue her tennis career while providing a college education,” he said. “We will definitely miss having her on the court next year!”
