Beulah Josephine Isbell, 98, of Pinehurst, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010 at her home after an illness.  Funeral services to remember her life will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 20 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.  Officiating will be the Rev. Harold Nazworth. A gathering of family and friends for a time of reflection will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. 

Born on March 20, 1912 in Shackleford County, Texas to parents, Mark Hamilton Alexander and Emma (Lawrence) Alexander, she resided in the Orange area since 1943 and previously lived in Albany, Texas. Beulah worked as a clerk for the Sears store in Orange and was a member of Old First Orange Baptist Church.  She was a kind lady who always helped others. She always believed in telling the truth and had a very good memory in recalling family events. Beulah enjoyed doing word search puzzles, playing 84 dominoes with her group of friends in Orange and she most enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Beulah is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl P. Isbell; son, Kenneth Earl Isbell; grandsons, Donnie Weldon Isbell and Don Earl Isbell; daughter-in-law, Lene Isbell; two brothers and one sister. 

Those who will most cherish her memory are her daughter, Virginia Rutledge and husband, Huye of Springtown, Texas; sons, Billy W. Isbell and wife, Barbara of Woodbridge, Va., Joe Bob Isbell of Plano and Jerry M. Isbell and his life partner, Lana Newsom of Orange; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
