Community Christian School students recently spent a week volunteering in the Orange/Bridge City/Vinton area to benefit those in need.

Under the direction of Judy Klein, students participate each year in a program called Student Leadership Institute which teaches that serving others is the best way to lead.

Students adopted projects with local affiliates to fill food boxes for Orange Christian Services, put up plywood and sheathing with Habitat for Humanity, repair houses with Fuller Disaster ReBuilders (based at First Church of the Nazarene). They also served food at First Presbyterian Soup Kitchen, painted the outside of Crossroads Baptist Church, cleaned the highway, and worked with Texas A&M on an AgriLife Extension Project to build a garden.
