Ruth Ann James, 79, of Orange, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at her home.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, in Claybar

Funeral Home in Orange with the Rev. David Burkheimer officiating.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.

Cremation will follow under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory in Bridge City.

Born in Camden, N.J. on Aug. 4, 1930, Mrs. James was the daughter of Elmer Adam Downs and Wilhelmina (Eberhard) Downs. She worked as a school teacher for the Little Cypress School District.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward V. James Jr.; and son Earl A. James.

Mrs. James is survived by her son, Eddy James III and his wife, Rosetta of the Philippines; son, Bobby James and his wife, Connie of Orange; and daughter, Susan Hart and her husband, Don of Houston.

She is also survived by her seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
