Florence Bernadette Thibodeaux Thompson, 84, of Orange died June 19, 2010 died. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 3 p.m., Monday, June 21, at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Phelan officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a Vigil service at 6 p.m., Sunday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Florence was born June 6, 1926 to Clement and Eliza Thibodeaux of Church Point, La. In 1949, she graduated from Hotel Dieu Nursing School in Beaumont. Her creative, loving spirit, along with kindness is her legacy and manifested itself in her warm home, family, artwork, cooking and sense of humor. She worked as a registered nurse at Vinton Memorial, Frances Lutcher Hospital, Levingston Shipbuilding Company, Southeast Texas Hospice, as well as a private duty nurse.

Florence was preceded in death by her daughter, Clarisse and is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Benjamin Crable Thompson; five children, Phillip Thompson and wife, Betty, Greg Thompson and wife, Susie, Suzy Thompson, Bruce Thompson and wife, Crystal and Mark Thompson; and seven grandchildren, James, William, Kayleigh, Stephanie, Holly, Sarah and Zach Thompson. She is also survived by her sister, Irona Mazzola of Orange; brother, Ray Thibodeaux of Nederland; and many nieces and nephews.

Wife, mother, daughter and sister, Florence loved us well and in turn was well loved. We are grateful and are glad she was ours.
