Rachel Eloise Jones Wade, 89, of Orange, passed from this life to join her husband and family for eternity on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services to honor her life will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 23 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Barry Jones, minister with the Ninth and Elm Church of Christ in Orange will conduct the services.  Interment will follow in Autumn Oaks Memorial Park near her home in Orange where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and her mother. A gathering of family and friends for a time of reflection will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Born on March 27, 1921 in Horatio, Ark. to parents, Claude R. Jones and Jean (Robinson) Jones. She lived in Orange since 1944. She was a member of Ninth and Elm Church of Christ in Orange. She enjoyed quilting for assistance of various ministries in the church. She enjoyed the gardening of flowers and vegetables, canning, spending time with her family and she was a full time caregiver to her husband during the last 11 years of his life. Mrs. Wade is preceded in death by her parents who were from Hot Springs, Ark.; her husband of 68 years, Louis A. Wade; and her brother, Houston A. “Buddy” Jones who was also from Hot Springs. 

Those who will most cherish her memory are her daughter, Cetha Haure and husband, Johnny of Colmesneil; her son, Freddy Wade and wife, Vickey of Mount Pleasant; her grandchildren, Lisa Knott and husband, Ryan, Chuck Haure and wife, Donna, Wendy O’Rourke and husband, Tom and Jill Wade; nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
