High school students who are new to the Bridge City Independent School District can begin to pre-register on Monday, Aug. 2. The student, along with the parent/guardian, must go to the assistant principals’ office to pre-register. Items needed are: previous school records, current immunization records, certified copy of birth certificate, proof of residence (lease purchase, rental agreement, or current permanent utility bill), legal guardianship information (if appropriate), and social security card. A parent or guardian shall be present with the student to complete registration procedures. Office hours are 8-11 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m.

Students are required to adhere to school dress and grooming policies during orientation.
RTC–freshman orientation (led by Cardinal veteran students for all incoming freshmen and parents0 will be held 6-7:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 9

Orientation for other classes will be held Tuesday, Aug, 10: Sophomores 8:30-9:30 a.m.; Juniors 9:30-10:30 a.m.; Seniors 10:30-11:30 a.m.

If you wish to park on campus, you must purchase a Reserved Parking Permit. The following items are required to purchase a permit: 1. Proof of liability insurance; 2. Your valid Texas Driver’s License; 3. Your vehicle’s license number. 4. Drug testing permission form signed by parent. NOTE: If you have a previous form signed and in our possession, no form is necessary. 5. Parking Permits will cost $20.00. All students driving vehicles must have the vehicle registered with the school and the parking permits must be visible at all times.

First day of school is 8 a.m. – 3:35 p.m., Aug. 23.

Individual student portraits will be made during orientation. In order to give everyone the opportunity to purchase a package to suit their individual needs, you may choose from the packages listed below. The correct amount of money must be brought to orientation. Please make checks payable to PROVINE.

Middle school registration, grades 6, 7, and 8.

Students new to the District should register beginning Monday, Aug. 9 through Friday, Aug. 13 in the middle school counselor’s office. The office will be open from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Items needed for registration are: Previous school records, current immunization records, certified copy of birth certificate, proof of residence, and social security card. A parent or guardian shall be present with the student to complete registration procedures. Call the Middle School Counselor’s office, 735-1581, if there are any questions. New students should enroll by Aug. 16 in order to receive a schedule on our registration day, Aug. 17.

Registration for the Middle School for students previously enrolled will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 17 from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. in the middle school cafeteria. Students will pick up academic class schedules, locate classrooms, and take school pictures. Students are required to follow the school’s grooming regulations. On this same day, 7th and 8th grade athletes and students who participate in an extra curricular activity can turn in physicals and drug testing forms to the appropriate staff on campus after registering. Also, please ensure that immunizations are up to date.

Intermediate school registration

Students new to the district should register Monday, Aug. 9 through Friday, Aug. 13 in the campus main office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. New students must have previous school records, a certified copy of birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security card, proof of residence (light bill, water bill or lease/rental agreement), and shall be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Bridge City Intermediate will distribute schedules from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 19. Students are encouraged to take supplies to their assigned homeroom at that time.

Teachers will be in classes to greet parents and students. Parent orientation will be in the cafeteria beginning at 6 p.m. to review campus procedures, BCISD policies, and important state mandates. Students unable to attend the registration on Thursday, Aug. 19 will be given schedules in the school office from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Aug. 20.

Teachers will not be available on Aug. 20 due to staff development.

First School Day will be 7:50 a.m. – 3 p.m., Aug. 23.

Registration for Hatton Elementary School

Kindergarten students new to the Bridge City District may enroll from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning July 12. Students must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2010 and have the following: a state certified copy of birth certificate, immunization records, social security card, proof of residence (Electric, Water or Lease ONLY), and ID of parent or guardian.
Class/teacher assignments will be posted on Wednesday, Aug. 18 for students enrolled prior to Friday, Aug. 13.

Parent and student orientation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 18. Class rolls will be posted in Hatton Office.

Parent Orientation will be held at the following times: Student’s last name beginning A-K 9 a.m. – Hatton Gym, 9:15 a.m. – meet teacher in classroom; L-Z 10:00 am – Hatton Gym, 10:15 a.m. – meet teacher in classroom.

New Pre-K students’ registration begins  from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Aug. 2. Student must be 4 years on or before Sept. 1, 2010 and have the following: Proof of income for month of July (Must meet the National School Lunch and Child Nutrition Programs Income Eligibility Guidelines), a state certified copy of birth certificate, immunization records, social security card, proof of residence (Electric, Water or Lease ONLY), and ID of parent or guardian.

Eligibility extends to: dependent of active military (parent/guardian must have military ID), child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, who was injured or killed serving active duty, child that has been in foster care of the Department of Family and Protective Services, or a child with limited English language (registration pending a language assessment).

First School Day begins 7:50 a.m. – 2:50 p.m., Aug.23.

Registration for Sims Elementary School

Students new to the Bridge City District may begin enrollment from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, Aug. 9.  Students must have previous school records, a certified copy of birth certificate, immunization records, social security card, proof of residence, and shall be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Students previously enrolled: Class/teacher assignments will be posted on Wednesday, Aug. 18 for students enrolled prior to Friday, Aug. 13.

Parent orientation will be Wednesday, Aug. 18.

Class rolls will be posted in Cafeteria. Parent orientation will be held at the following times: Grade 1–1 p.m.in the cafeteria, 1:30 p.m. in classroom with teacher; Grade 2–2:30 p.m. in the cafeteria, 3 p.m. in the classroom with teacher.
