Richard Austin Wilkerson, 41, of Deweyville passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Baptist Orange Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, Aug.5 at 7 p.m. at Dorman Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends starting at 5 p.m. until service time. Officiating will be the Rev. John Fortenberry of Calvary Baptist Church of Deweyville. Cremation will be under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.

He was a native of Port Arthur; born to parents Richard Ray Wilkerson and Sharon Ann (Corrigan) Wilkerson. He was a long time resident of Deweyville and was part owner in Deweyville LP Gas. Some of his hobbies were going fishing and working on cars. He was a movie buff and was one great jokester. His son, Stephen, was his greatest joy and pride in life.

Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Richard “Rick” Wilkerson; sister, Raelynn Williford; nephew, Kenny Williford.

To cherish his memory will be his mother, Sharon Wilkerson of Deweyville; son, Stephen Austin Wilkerson of Deweyville; sisters, Reghan Berry and her partner, Jeff King of Vinton, La., Robin Boehm of Deweyville; brother, Rusty Wilkerson and his wife Patrice of Deweyville; extended family, Dana Wilbur and her husband Wayne of Deweyville, George Nolan and his wife, Debbie of Deweyville; brothers-in-law, Edwin Kent Williford of Gist, Robert A. Berry Jr. of Port Arthur; nieces and nephews, Michael Wilkerson, Logan “Monkey Butt” King, Kinsey Williford, Jana Tadlock, Jenny Wilbur and a host of friends.
