Kenneth H. O’Barr Sr., 86, of Orange, passed away Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 at the Cornerstone Hospital in Sulphur, La. Funeral services to remember his life will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 13 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.  Interment will follow in Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time and the family will be in at noon to receive friends at the funeral home. 

Born on Oct. 15, 1923 in Winthrop, Ark. to his parents, Roy Jackson O’Barr and Lois Audy (Peavy) O’Barr, he had been a resident of Orange since 1952 and had previously lived in Port Arthur for four years.  Mr. O’Barr worked for the DuPont Sabine River Works Plant in Orange as a production supervisor and retired in 1983.  Mr. O’Barr was a veteran of the Navy, serving on board the U. S. S. Lexington during World War II. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Loyce E. O’Barr; sister, Ottimeice Todd; and brothers, Jack and Byron O’Barr. 

Mr. O’Barr is survived by his son, Kenneth H. O’Barr Jr. of Orange. Pallbearers will be Stacy Teal, Philip Brown, Clyde Boudreaux, Bruce Korte, Ed Meyers and Marlon Anthony.
