Ada Lee Taylor, 86, of Orange died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at  Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at First Baptist Church in Mauriceville. Officiating will be the Rev. Lennie Wilson of Rosedale Baptist Church, and the Rev. Kevin Brown of First Baptist Church in Mauriceville. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m, Monday, at First Baptist Church.

Born in Mauriceville on April 29, 1924, Ada was the daughter of Maria (Linscomb) and T.J. Frederick. She was a longtime resident of Beaumont, but recently moved back to Mauriceville. Ada worked was a secretary at Gulf Chemical, and was a volunteer at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont for over 25 years.

Ada was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Taylor; and son, Ronald F. Broussard.

She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Christian of Humble, Verna Hutto of Mauriceville, and Joyce Dickerson of Orange;  grandchildren, Rhonda Trahan of Mauriceville, Glenda Sullivan and husband, Mike of Memphis, Tenn., and Brenda Patterson of Alvin; great-grandchildren, Meagan and Amanda Rickert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
