Lois Alloway, 90, of Orange passed away on Thursday, Sept. 02, 2010 at Harbor hospice in Beaumont. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park, with a gather of family and friends starting at 2 p.m. at the cemetery, under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.
She was a native of San Augustine; born on July 15, 1920 to parents Kenneth Troy Lakey and Ella May (Kingley) Lakey. She had lived in the Orange area most of her life. She worked at 11 Street Nursery and owned a lounge in Orange for many years. She loved to work in her yard, especially with her Azaleas and Camellias. She loved listening to Cajun Music and dancing. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Lakey; sisters, Lora Tarver, Elizabeth Stanley and Alma Taylor.
She is survived by her partner of 20 years, Claude Fitz of Orange; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Wootie Neyland of Lumberton; son, Dale Scarber of Orange; grandson, Stoney Myers; great-grandchildren, Tye Myers, Michael Myers and a number nieces and nephews.
