Robert A. Ingram, M.D., 88, of Orange died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at Orange Baptist Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange with the Rev. Sid Thorne officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Born in Dallas on June 6, 1922, Dr. Ingram was the son of Bernice Aveline (Benedict) and Henry Lee Ingram. Dr. Ingram earned his bachelor’s degree at Rice University. He went on and earned his doctorate at UTMB Galveston and served his internship at Baptist Hospital in San Antonio.

He was a member of the Texas Medical Association, American Medical Association, American Board of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Practice. Dr. Ingram was also a member of the Golden Kawanis of Orange.

Dr. Ingram was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Elizabeth “Betsy” Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Dorace Ingram; and three nieces, Patty Wiggins of Las Vegas, Nev., Martha Boudreaux of Port Neches, and Vickie Vacek of Sugar Land.

Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Boudreaux, Carl Braunlich, John Thomas, Mark Vacek, Oliver Seastrunk and David Johnson. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Homer Stuntz.
