From Staff Reports

A homecoming victory is in the book for the Bridge City Cardinals who took out Stafford 36-Zip. To add to the homecoming festivities a Stafford player was arrested for fighting with a teammate and unruly conduct afterward. It was an eventful night in Larry Ward Stadium.

Orange County teams did well. The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears are now 4-0 after winning their district opener by defeating Lumberton a whopping 45-0. The Bears were joined on the sideline by West Orange-Stark Mustangs following the public memorial for quarterback Reggie Garrett, Jr. whose sudden death on the field last week has saddened and brought together the Orange County community.

It was an emotional display of support and a tribute in sportsmanship for Garrett. The Mustangs cancelled their game this week to mourn the loss of the young quarterback.

The Vidor Pirates made it perfect for Orange County teams when they defeated Nederland 24-14.

The Orangefield Bobcats had a bye this week.
