Anson D. Yarbrough, 83, of New Caney and formerly of Orange, died Wednesday, Sept. 29 at his residence.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2 at

Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Burial will follow at Orange

Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Born in Wells, Texas on Nov. 24, 1926, Anson was the son of Allie Mae (Moore) and Newland P. Yarbrough. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Mae Yarbrough; and brothers, Ray and Virgal Yarbrough.

Anson is survived by his sons, Randy Yarbrough and Larry Yarbrough, both of New Caney; daughter, Diane Parsons of The Woodlands; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Curtis Yarbrough, William Yarbrough, Carl Yarbrough; and sister, Audrey Chapman.

Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Yarbrough, Randy Yarbrough, John Stewart, Charles Ellis, Chuck Ellis, and John Young.
