The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Battlin’ Bears are in a five game winning streak as Coach Randy Crouch and crew defeated Dist. 20-4A opponent Ozen, 24-15.

The Orangefield Bobcats (4-1) pounded the Jasper Bulldogs at the ‘Dog House’ 49-30. It was the Quinton Evans show in a blazing 37-14 first half. Evans scored on the first play of the game soaring 85-yards to set the tempo of the contest. The Bobcat defense lead by senior linebacker Josh Shores dominated the field but a defiant Jasper battled back in the second half.

The Vidor Pirates fell to Lumberton 21-6. Newton fell to East Chambers 38-28 while football fields across Southeast Texas paid tribute to Coach Barbay who died Saturday of heart complications and West Orange-Stark Mustang quarterback Reggie Garrett, Jr. who died on the sideline Sept. 17.

The West Orange-Stark Mustangs will break loose again on Saturday as they take on Kirbyville on Saturday at Dan R. Hooks Stadium. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

In Mid-County Madness 2010 the Nederland Bulldogs defeated the Port Neches-Groves Indians 39-32.
