Charles Richard “Ricky” Granger Jr., 48, of Orange, passed away Sunday, Oct. 3 in Beaumont.

Funeral services to remember his life will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. Keith Royal, pastor of the Winfree Baptist Church near Bridge City. Interment will follow in the Granger Cemetery in the Duncan Woods community between Orangefield and Vidor. A gathering of family and friends for a time of reflection will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at the funeral home. 

Born on Nov. 2, 1961 in Orange to his parents, Charles Richard Granger Sr. and Gloria Faye (Russell) Granger, he was a longtime resident of Orange and he worked in the construction industry as a boilermaker. Ricky was a very simple man who enjoyed riding horses, deer hunting, fishing, watching bull riding at rodeos and movies on television. Ricky also participated in Little Britches Rodeo’s as a kid and he enjoyed listening to country and gospel music. 

Ricky is preceded in death by his, paternal grandparents, Tresimond and Druly Granger and his maternal grandparents, J. C. and Ethel Russell. 

He is survived by his daughter, Ashlyn Garrett and husband, Terry of Orange; his son, Chason Granger and wife, Melissa of Orange; his parents, Charles and Gloria Granger of Orange ; his sister, Charla Thomas and husband, Neville of Bridge City; his brother, Ed Wayne Granger of Orange and his grandchildren, Jadelynn, Kattie, Morgan and Stormy. Ricky is also survived by numerous extended family.
