Death investigation at Dupont plant in Orange
On Monday Oct. 11, 2010 at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a death investigation at the Dupont plant on FM 1006 in Orange. Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and conducted the investigation.
The deceased was identified as Mathew Etheridge, a 23 year old Orange resident and an employee working for a contractor inside the Dupont plant.
Mr. Etheridge was pronounced deceased by Orange County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Derry Dunn. Judge Dunn ordered an inquest and Mr. Etheridge was transported to the Jefferson County Morgue where an autopsy will be performed.
The exact cause of death is not known at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
