The Bridge City-Orangefield Rotary Club sponsor a fund raiser prior to the Bridge City and Orangefield Football game on November 5th.

The fund raiser dinner will be held at the Bridge City Middle School cafeteria, located on Bower Street next to the Larry Ward Football Stadium. The meal will be served between 5 PM-7:30 PM. The menu will consist of spaghetti, beans, bread, desert and drinks. Tickets will be $7.00 each, with the proceeds going towards a significant community project.

With the monies raised through this dinner, the Bridge City-Orangefield Club will apply for a matching grant issued by the Rotary Club District 5910. Next year, 2011 the Rotary Club hopes to have this event at one of the Orangefield schools.

Rotary is a service organization and the Local Club has been involved in such things as collecting books for schools internationally, supporting foreign exchange students, collecting toys for families in need, sponsoring blood drives, sending high school students to Rotary Leadership Camps, and has contributed to many local entities such as CASA, Red Cross, etc. Rotary is especially proud to be a part of contributing to the near eradication of polio world wide.

Rotary Club President Jack Comer states, “In the spirit of friendly competition, we hope that families from both school districts will come and dine with us prior to the football game. Our desire is to identify specific needs and then contribute back to the communities. These monies along with the matching grant will allow us to do such.”
