Carl B. Sims, 85, of Vidor died Friday, Oct. 8 at his residence.

Funeral services was held on Monday, Oct. 11 at First Baptist Church of Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial that followed at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.

A native of Kirbyville, he lived in Vidor for 57 years. He was a retired safety patrol with DuPont-Beaumont for 33 years, he also owned Ginny’s Florist with his wife, Pat, for 30 years.

He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Carl was a Sunday School teacher and Deacon in the First Baptist Church of Vidor for over 50 years.

Carl is survived by his wife of 57 years Pat Sims of Vidor, daughters Pam Jaetzold and husband Jeff of Vidor; Linda Baran and husband Sanford of Boulder, CO. Sheryl Quave and Armando Carmona of Vidor; Jennifer LeBlanc and husband Kelly of Magnolia; brother Rev. Versie Sims of Jasper; sisters Reba Dove of Call, Texas and Jeanette McWhartor of Pasadena, Texas; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

When he went home to be with the Lord, he was at his house surrounded by his loved ones. The Sims family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice for their wonderful, loving care during our time of need.
