Orange

Odessa Lee Dalton, 80, of Orange died Friday, Oct. 15 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont after an illness.

Funeral services will be at Monday, Oct. 18 at First United Pentecostal Church in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. Gary Wheeler. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the church.

Born on July 27, 1930, Odessa was a lifelong resident of Orange, and one of 14 children born to Ollie (Myers) and Owen Taylor. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Orange.

Odessa was preceded in death by her husband, James Dalton; and daughter, Elizabeth “Libby” Merritt.

She is survived by her son, Jeff (J.W.) Dalton, and wife Becky; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grand children; sister,Beatrice Tipton of Houston; and two brothers, Mitchell Taylor of Denver, Colorado and Leon Taylor of Kirbyville.

Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Bufford, Jake Dalton, Logan Williford, Larry Mayfield, Phillip Williams, and Kenneth Laughlin.
