Four “Mathletes” from Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School made the trip to Beaumont recently to compete in the Lamar University MathFest against schools from several other southeast Texas districts.

The group of students won $1,250 in scholarship and prize money.

Kristen Garvey received a $100 gift card for winning first place in geometry, and a $25 gift card for being a part of the third place team. Tanner Crow got a $50 gift card for winning first place in “Who Wants to Be a Mathematician.”

Michael Lessard won a $25 gift card for being part of the third place team; and Jordan King won a $25 gift card for being part of the third place team and a $1,000 scholarship.
