Two young sisters who were killed in a Saturday evening crash have been identified. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Cristin Grubbs, 12 and Katie Grubbs, 11 were killed when a car crossed into oncoming traffic and hit their father’s car on Highway 105 near Texla Road north of Vidor.

Cristin was a 7th grader, and Katie was a 6th grader.  Both attended C.O. Wilson Middle School in Nederland

According to reports from DPS, two vehicles were involved in the accident shortly before 6:00 PM on FM 105, near Texla Road.

Amanda Lewis, 25 of Baytown was driving her Dodge Durango on 105 and crossed into oncoming traffic hitting a Lincoln Town Car driven by Grant Grubbs, 43 of Lumberton. 

Grubbs had two young children in the vehicle under the age of 10.  Justice of the Peace Joe Parkhurst pronounced the children dead at the scene.

Both adults were transported to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, where both were listed in critical condition. 

According to hospital personnel, neither adult is listed as patients and have apparently been released.
