Barbara Gail Pope
Barbara Gail Pope, 62, of Orange and a former longtime resident of Sulphur Springs, passed away Monday, Nov. 15 in Orange. Funeral services will be at 7:00 P.M. Friday, Nov. 19 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Born on Dec. 17, 1947 in Glendale, California to her parents Edward Leon Pope and Cleoria Barbara (McAlpin) Pope, she lived in Orange for about a year and worked as a food service worker in public schools in the area. Gail was of the Baptist faith and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; her uncle, Scotty McAlpin and her dear friends, Emerson and Joan Leleaux. Those who will most cherish her memory are her sons, Jim Fry and wife, April of Orange and Richard Fry of Orange; her brother, Frank Pope and wife, Starlene of Mount Pleasant, Texas; her dear friends, Daisie White of Sulphur Springs and Faye Woods of Orangefield; and her grandchildren, Ashley and Colton Fry. Gail is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
