Orange

John H. Herrington, 80, of Orange, died Wednesday, Nov. 17 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21 at North Orange Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Scott McIntosh and the Rev. Larry Lormand. Burial will follow at Niblett’s Bluff Cemetery in Vinton, La.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Winnsboro, La. on April 8, 1930, John was the son of Lula Elizabeth (Wactor) and Joseph Herrington. He retired from Texaco Refinery after 37 and a half years of service. At the time of his retirement, he was manager of the store room facility. He was a member of North Orange Baptist Church and was an active community servant for 53 years in Orange.

Preceded in death by his wife, Doris Herrington, John is survived by his son, Charles Herrington and wife Karen of Corsicana; daughter, Evita Herrington Kemmer and husband Scott of Pine, Col.; grandchildren, Dusty Kemmer and wife Kristi, Claudette Okorafor and husband, Michael and Anne Marie Herrington; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Dylan and Lauren Kemmer, Jasmine, Jordan and Jayden Okorafor and Indigo Stovall; and sister, Odeyene Myers of Orange.
