On Tuesday Morning, Nov. 23, at approximately 2:45 a.m. the West Orange Police were notified of a disturbance on Donnell Street in West Orange. Upon arrival it was found that a male suspect had forcibly entered into a residence, demanded money and assaulted the occupants, one of which was six months pregnant. The suspect appeared to have a weapon.

One of the residents had a knife located nearby, got the knife and began stabbing the suspect. The suspect fled from the scene but was located in an abandoned trailer nearby. The suspect was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he was treated and is currently in ICU.

The pregnant resident was transported to Baptist Orange Hospital, where she was treated and released.

The case is still  under investigation by the West Orange Police Department and was assisted at the scene by the Pinehurst and Orange Police Departments.
