The 37th presentation of the Beaumont Civic Ballet’s Nutcracker will, once again, usher in the holiday season. This is the only Nutcracker that is locally produced and the only ballet that highlights local dancers. Each year, over 3,000 school children from across Southeast Texas attend the performances.

“Every year the Nutcracker performance is different based on the ability of the dancers.” says Marsha Woody Zummo, Artistic Director of the Beaumont Civic Ballet. “This year two local high school girls are alternating dancing the roles of Snow Queen and the Sugar Plumb fairy are exceptional dancers. These girls have studied in New York with the School of American Ballet and the Joffrey Ballet. It is wonderful to see local talent.”

Two performances are scheduled on Saturday, December 11 and Sunday, December 12 both at 2:30 p.m. All performances are at the Julie Rogers Theatre.
